The mission of the West Springfield Teen Center is to provide, promote, and encourage positive social activities designed for and by West Springfield adolescents in a healthy environment, free from substance abuse and negative societal pressures. The Teen Center is a private, non profit entity. The official opening was November 17, 1995. The center benefits the town of West Springfield by addressing the needs for positive social activities. It also helps to provide constructive programs to fill the after-school hours when studies show delinquency rates are at the highest. An advisory board compromised of high school students assists in developing programs. Students are offered leadership roles by serving on the Student Advisory Board and are offered work opportunities with in the Teen Center.
